Overview
The Quality Assurance Technician plays a key role in ensuring product quality, safety, and compliance throughout the manufacturing process. This position is responsible for inspecting and releasing raw materials and finished goods, performing in-process quality checks, and supporting sanitation and GMP programs. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment while collaborating closely with Production, Warehouse, and Quality teams.
GeneralDuties
- Perform sampling, inspection, and release of raw materials, component packaging, bulk materials, and finished goods
- Perform sensory evaluations (taste, texture, solubility, appearance) as required
- Conduct ATP swab testing to verify cleaning and sanitation effectiveness
- Review and approve each step of the weighing, blending and packaging processes that need Quality approval in accordance with manufacturing records
- Conduct in-process quality checks (weights, blend uniformity, packaging and label verification)
- Identify and report non‑conformance and deviations, escalating issues when necessary
- Manage and maintain product quality documentation and assist with reviewing paperwork
- Work closely with Production, Warehouse and Quality teams to address and resolve quality issues promptly
- Participate in investigation of product non‑conformance or customer complaints
- Provide administrative support such as data entry and filing
- Coordinate and maintain the calibration of equipment (scales, weights), temperature and humidity sensors
- Participate in any required quality training (GMP, etc.) and support current QA/QC operations as needed
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
- Can work independently but must also be a team player capable of operating interdepartmentally
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good organization and record‑keeping skills, problem‑solving and ability to multi‑task
- Must be willing to perform other tasks as needed
- Ability to lift 40 lbs
- Ability to work on your feet.
High school diploma or GED
1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, QC or QA preferred
Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) – (food or dietary supplement experience preferred)
Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
