The Parking & Transportation Specialist performs functions of the UT Dallas parking and transportation office including first-line customer service, citation payment processing, appeals processing, billing, collections, invoicing, and reporting. The Specialists organize, implement, analyze, assess, and continuously improve the University’s parking and transportation programs with emphases on improved customer service and enhancement of online services. Receives requests for parking and/or transportation services from University departments and arranges and provides responses, which may entail coordination of services and cooperation with University Police, Student Services, and other University departments.
The Specialists are expected to use professional project coordination skills to resolve problems of moderate scope and complexity; are expected to obtain certifications in FLEX parking systems management program, perform data analysis on parking and transportation operations and produce reports for management.
An Associate's degree or trade/technical certification and 1-3 years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, intermediate keyboarding/data entry skills, excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette, and written and verbal communication skills.

PreferredEducation and Experience
Previous Parking & Transportation Industry experience. Experience with T2 flex parking software preferred. Previous experience with People Soft software preferred.
Other QualificationsTo the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Oversee parking enforcement officers (student workers) during hours of enforcement, including constant two-way communication via MS Teams to verify vehicle enforcement.
- Identify and review parking accounts of vehicles, and install vehicle immobilization devices (wheel boots) on vehicles in violation of UT Dallas Parking & Transportation policy.
- Set up signage, barricades, cones, and oversee staffing for special events.
- Review, process, and assign parking for special events on campus, including scheduling and assigning resources, ordering, setting up signage and on-site quality control. Send quotes and invoices to departments for event services rendered.
- Oversee Comet Cab drivers (student workers) during service hours, including constant two-way communication via MS Teams. Communicate with students with accessibility needs and ensure their services continue on time.
- Process DART GoPass requests and answer transportation questions and concerns.
- Complete monthly vehicle maintenance and oversee and schedule weekly golf cart maintenance.
- Oversee and hire/training of cashiers (student workers) including time-clock supervision, and front desk operations during service hours. Assist with office opening operations, cashiering, sales, data entry, and elevated customer service concerns. Monitor visitor accounts, payment collection, reconcile accounts, oversee permit issuance, and process payments.
- Prepare monthly reports, stats, and metrics for 883 ridership, special events, permit sales, meter revenue, GoPasses, etc.
- Enter financial journals and manage supplemental documentation to support charges. Responsible for LUKE meter coupon code creation, distribution, and billing. Manage T2 database and complete file transfers within Orion and T2 Flex.
- Assist with Payroll Deduction and Reserved parking permit sales, along with other elevated projects that extend beyond day-to-day sales. Approve and reconcile financial journals for inter-office financial transactions for special events and other purchases made via cost center.
- Assist with day-to-day Parking Office clerical and customer service duties, including phone calls and email inquiries.
- Perform all other duties as assigned to meet departmental needs.
The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to very loud. Must be able to lift 30 lbs., bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.
