Summary

The Junior Sales Account Manager will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining customer relationships while driving revenue growth. This position combines inside sales responsibilities with outside sales activities, offering a unique opportunity to develop a diverse skill set in account management and customer engagement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Undergraduate degree required – Graduate degree preferred. Chemistry or science degrees preferred (or experience equivalent) but not required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of industry experience preferred.
  • Actively participate in industry associations deemed necessary by the VP of Sales.
  • Occasional overnight trips outside the designated sales territory for seminars, training, and conventions.
  • Travel within territory as required – total travel expected 25%.
  • Represent the company in industry and professional activities such as trade shows and seminars.
  • Maintain the highest level of integrity and a polished professional image.
  • Grow sales and increase profitability within the assigned territory.
  • Seek appointments and visits with both current customers and new prospects.
  • Organize the territory’s customers and prospects to maximize call efficiency.
  • Develop product knowledge for the Personal Care industry and present to R&D.
  • Make scheduled sales calls to maintain and pursue new business.
  • Manage leads generated by Marketing and Business Development.
  • Maintain frequent contact with customers on technical and sales issues.
  • Effectively sell, manage, and monitor price increases.
  • Advise on configuration and development of new products.
  • Communicate customer needs throughout the organization.
  • Assist as needed in resolving customer service or account receivable issues.
  • Participate in the non‑conformance process for customer complaints and supplier non‑conformance.
Strategic Thinking/Planning
  • Carefully develop opportunities via customer visits and manage them through the company’s CRM system, updating progress monthly until the first sale.
  • Engage in monthly strategy meetings with the Market Development Manager.
  • Ensure continuous new and recurring sales revenue flow by managing the pipeline.
  • Visit up to 15 client sites to build rapport and understand customer requirements.
Report Requirements & Expectations
  • Meet/exceed revenue and profit targets within the territory.
  • Follow up on samples, literature, and written communication to customers.
  • Achieve weekly goals for client/prospect presentations as determined with the VP Sales.
  • Accurately report visits and customer activity via the CRM system.
  • Complete additional projects and reports as required by management.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
