Database Engineer -TS​/SCI Clearance

Day In The Life

• Identify and understand customer needs and apply sound, demonstrable understanding of database principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering to translate those needs to viable design solutions
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas well
• Successfully integrate Commercial Off‑the‑Shelf (COTS) products as part of customer‑driven solutions
• Use proven problem solving and analytical skills
• Obtain and maintain SCI program access and complete polygraphs
• Obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of start

• US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance
• Willingness to undergo comprehensive background investigation and pass a polygraph exam

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
• 2 years of Database Engineering experience
• Experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)
• Experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) solutions, such as Oracle, Postgres, or related systems
• Working with Systems and Software Engineers to implement and modify backend databases to interact with applications within a development environment
• Experience using Linux command line to perform database administration activities
• Cultural fit in a collaborative team environment

• Existing Security+ Certification
• Experience virtualizing or containerizing databases
• Experience with AWS
• Experience with No
  
  SQL database products such as Mongo
  
  DB and DynamoDB
• Experience troubleshooting database issues such as DR, replication & backups and other related issues
• Experience troubleshooting performance issues
• Experience with database security controls and audit & compliance requirement
• Experience with automating routine tasks
• Experience with Spatial databases
• Coding experience (SQL, Python, Java)

Benefit selection, customer contractual specifications, relevant work experience, skills, competencies, certifications, and clearance status will influence the final salary.

Full benefits: $91,000 to $114,000 annually

Reduced benefits (no medical, dental, vision):
