5th Grade Teacher (1.0 FTE) – Sci Tech Academy Charter School Richfield, MN

Sci Tech Academy seeks an Elementary Classroom Teacher for the 2025-26 School Year.

JOB SUMMARY:

To plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for an Elementary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Work is performed under the supervision of the instructional coach and principal.

Essential Functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

Planning and delivering lessons: plan lessons in accordance with the curriculum and deliver them to students engagingly and effectively.

Assessing student progress: the teacher evaluates student learning through assignments, tests, and other assessments and provides feedback to students and their families.

Creating a positive learning environment: the teacher creates a positive and safe classroom environment that is conducive to learning and establishes clear expectations for student behavior.

Managing the classroom: the teacher manages the classroom and ensures students are engaged, motivated, and on-task.

Communicating with parents and colleagues: the teacher communicates with parents and colleagues to discuss student progress, curriculum development, and other matters related to the Academy's teaching and learning.

Providing support for students with special needs: the teacher provides support and accommodations for students with special needs and works closely with special education teachers and other professionals to ensure that all students receive the support they need.

Participating in professional development:
The teacher participates in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest teaching methods and technologies and to continuously improve their skills and knowledge. The teacher plays a critical role in shaping the minds and futures of young students and must possess strong teaching skills, a passion for education, and a deep commitment to student success.

Credentials:

B.A/ B.S degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field of teaching

Minnesota State certification in teaching in appropriate subject area k-6 or equivalent.
