Overview

We have been serving Good Old Fashioned Family Food since 1995. We are a fun, family‑friendly concept known for our great homemade food, large portions, and genuine, friendly service. The overall responsibility of a Preparation Cook is to perform various food preparation, cooking and cleaning tasks to ensure the kitchen remains efficient in creating and delivering dishes for our guests, which results in the diner running smoothly and our guests returning.

Knowledge / Technical Experience
  • Familiar with and practice all company standards related to position
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc.
  • Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food, etc.
  • Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the manager‑on‑duty
Appearance / Uniform
  • Black pants (no leggings or jeans)
  • Black no‑slip grip shoes
  • Shirt provided by the company
Work Conditions
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays in addition to normal business
Physical Demand Requirements
  • Frequent manual dexterity of both hands (pushing, pulling, handling, gripping, fine finger controls, etc.)
  • Frequent exposure to cold/below‑freezing and high heat temperatures (walk‑in refrigerator, freezers and ovens)
  • Work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Bending, squatting, and stooping for cleaning activities throughout the shift

Hours are up to 32–35 per week; days will be arranged with employer.
