Overview
Job Summary
Performs imaging procedures/treatments according to radiology practice standards in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. Obtains accurate demographic, financial and clinical information and enters it into the computer system to create the medical and financial record. Applies financial guidelines to determine/collect patient liability. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principles/theory and utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments, as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results. Registers patients accurately, efficiently, and professionally to ensure database integrity and facilitate claims processing.
- Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures. Applies financial screening guidelines to ensure proper procedures are followed in obtaining upfront collections for the specific facility.
- Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff. Strives to expedite patient flow through prompt and courteous service.
- Participates in hospital and departmental Performance Improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards.
- Completes assigned goals.
- Performs various general support functions in the clinic to ensure efficient utilization of time.

Minimum Required
- None
Preferred/Desired
- 1 year hospital/clinic experience preferred.
Education
Minimum Required
- Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology.
Preferred/Desired
- Associates degree or 2 years of college level courses.
Special Skills
Minimum Required
- Basic computer literacy skills.

Licensure
Minimum Required
Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with current Registry in Radiography ARRT(R) or new graduate who is waiting to take the registry. Proof of ARRT (by primary source) must be available within 60 calendar days of graduation. Must also possess State License if required by state. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 14 days of hire date.
