Job Description: This position is a member of the Financial Services Team and works closely with the Director of Business Services and the Vice President of Financial Services to ensure efficient operations, cost‑effective and timely procurement, and excellent customer service for students, faculty, and staff. The coordinator is responsible for managing bookstore operations, material distribution, organizing and administering the procurement of all goods, services, and capital needs necessary for the operation of the College in accordance with the Illinois Public Community College Act, the Illinois Purchasing Act, and established Board of Trustees Policies and procedures.
This position serves as the college expert regarding purchasing methods, systems, workflows, and cost‑effective procurement.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a direct industry purchasing capacity.
- Familiarity with purchasing statutes, policies, rules, and procedures in relation to public procurement of goods and services.
- This position requires a background check, as well as a credit check.
- Understanding of purchasing operations and experience in an educational or governmental environment preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to write/prepare reports and analyze data; proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications; ability to use electronic equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with limited direction.

Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information.
- Must be able to work effectively in stressful situations.
- Must be able to work occasional irregular hours.
- This position is a 40‑hour per week schedule with normal hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Summer hours may vary.
- This position will require in‑district travel for other assigned activities and duties. Travel to conferences and meetings beyond the College district is likely.
Salary: Pay Band: E-9, $44,481.72 - $55,602.15
