Part-Time Children's Minister - Richland, WA

Overview

Our church, the Tri-Cities Chinese Alliance Church (TCCAC), is located in Richland, Washington. TCCAC began as a Chinese Christian Bible Study Fellowship over 45 years ago and joined the C&MA denomination in 1990. The church is led by a governing board of deacons elected by the congregation and the senior pastor, with Rev. Stephen Chien currently serving as the senior pastor.

The church has a renewed passion to share the Gospel and foster spiritual growth in its members and the body of Christ.

Children’s ministry is a core part of our mission to build up families in faith. We aim to teach children about their Lord and Savior and to reach our neighbors with the Gospel. Our children’s ministry is currently run by volunteers and we are seeking to strengthen worship, Sunday School, and nursery programs to better support families attending worship and church activities.

• Recruit, equip, and train teachers for our children’s ministry.
• Establish formal Children’s Sunday School classes centered on Scripture, conduct curriculum development and oversee lesson planning, and collaborate with the Discipleship Department.
• Support parents by providing activity sheets for children during adult worship services.
• Develop a Children’s Church program during Adult Sunday School.
• Help set up and supervise the nursery and nursery program during worship and Sunday School.
• Develop and implement safety guidelines and practices for children during all services and activities.
• Collaborate with the senior pastor and governing board on overall church development and outreach to the community.

• Has unequivocal assurance of being saved by grace through faith in Christ the Lord and a clear sense of calling to pastoral ministry.
• Sees this ministry as an expression of Christ’s love for the church, serving as a servant leader to our younger generation.
• Accepts the Statement of Faith, governance structure, and polities of the C&MA church.
• Is humble, honest, and genuinely seeking oneness in Christ with the congregation.
• Qualifications and Experience – We look for a candidate who
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in ministry or education; related experience is preferred.
• Is or will be licensed by C&MA. If not licensed, the church will support licensing and/or ordination efforts.
• Has a burden for evangelism and building up the church through collaboration with youth and adult ministries.
• Has a special calling to serve in an ethnic or cross-cultural church setting.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with children and their parents.
• Work eligibility in the US is required.
