Position Title: Adult Education Instructor Part-Time (grant-funded continuous recruitment)
Responsibilities- Coordinate and teach classes for adult education (AE) and English as a Second Language (ESL) students.
- Provide current and organized instruction in classroom using sound, comprehensive principles.
- Deliver differentiated instruction combining direct instruction, guided practice, group work, and individual application to meet student needs.
- Adapt instruction to meet student needs.
- Supervise and evaluate student learning in the classroom and other teaching environments.
- Provide continual monitoring and feedback of student progress.
- Assist with assessment and enrollment of students.
- Inform AE staff of student problems/issues.
- Consult with students regarding learning needs and performance.
- Establish appropriate education and employability plans with students and conduct counseling activities, especially at off‑campus sites.
- Report attendance and student progress as required.
- Complete 12 hours of state‑required professional development annually.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Required Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field; computer knowledge; experience working with diverse populations.
- Preferred Master’s Degree in Adult Education, ESL or related field; three years teaching experience in adult education; knowledge of community and social services agencies.
Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information; work effectively in stressful situations; provide timely response to external/internal conditions and deadlines; respond to concurrent, multiple, non‑related issues; occasional irregular hours and travel.
Compensation$35 per hour.
