The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.

The selected candidate will perform the day‑to‑day operations of the Ground Support Technical Operations (GSTO) group supporting the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) Artemis program. The candidate will support Launch Vehicle Processing, Testing and Validation of flight and ground systems.

This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and technical training in the applicable area of expertise and three years related experience.

Preferred:
Experience with hydraulic systems or direct knowledge of hydraulic equipment functions. Basic electrical systems experience or knowledge is desired. A mechanical and/or electrical background in aviation or aerospace fields. Must be able to follow work instructions, interpret engineer drawings and follow stringent work area rules and safety protocols. Excellent communication skills are required. Some experience in Microsoft Office Products (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

is required. Must be able to pass a SCAPE Physical and maintain a security clearance. Must be able to support shift work, weekends and reasonable overtime when required.

• Will be required to climb stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting.
• Climbing ladders and platforms will be necessary.
• Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection and other associated personal protective equipment.
• Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
• Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures.

• All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards.
• Will be required to work inside and outside throughout the test complex.
• Position requires daily individual to travel to different areas on site.
• Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the facility.

• Operate computer terminals, personal computers, and related computer peripheral equipment to maintain/adjust database logs and records, print documents and record work performance.
• Personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, laser printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.

• Work assignments are normally 8 hours shifts, 5 consecutive days per week.
• Must be dependable and punctual.
• Occasional overtime, sometimes with short notice, is required to meet demanding schedule
