Base pay range

$67.64/hr - $92.49/hr

Overview:

ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. The Licensing Consultant will be responsible for developing strategic approaches to licensing and environmental activities to support organizational goals for new nuclear development. This position will provide technical advice and proactive guidance to management on a wide range of complex licensing, environmental, and other regulatory issues, including the interpretation and verification of industry guidance and the application of regulatory requirements to project-specific matters.

This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.

Pay range: $67.64 - $92.49

Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultation to Services & Development management to assure nuclear safety, licensing, and regulatory issues are identified, addressed, and resolved.
  • Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to Services & Development management on matters affecting regulatory and environmental project performance.
  • Represent the organization with applicable regulators, industry work groups, workshops, and conferences.
  • Understanding Environmental Review needs which may include the conduct of field and onsite visits as needed.
  • Collaborating with a team of experts in licensing and environmental laws to support discussion and resolution of licensing/environmental process issues.
  • Keeping management apprised of latest licensing and environmental policies, rules, and standards that may need to be followed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Education, Business or Behavioral Sciences, Science, or related field from an accredited college or university AND 15 years supervisory or management experience in a nuclear power plant in a Licensing or Environmental role AND 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • SRO/RO License or certification
  • Previous experience as a manager in Licensing and/or Environmental at a nuclear power plant
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Capable of conducting meetings with executive level management, including regulatory management, on a professional level
  • Clearly capable of conducting technical meetings and maintaining a professional relationship with regulatory agencies
  • Ability to work well with others in closely linked roles to achieve mutual goals, to reach a consensus among dissenting opinions, and insight on when to stand firm when faced with opposition
  • Ability to manage in a highly stressful, time constraining, regulatory environment
  • Required knowledge includes:
  • Understanding of Licensing and Environmental regulations pertaining to a nuclear facility
  • Knowledge of self-assessment and benchmarking practices within the commercial nuclear power industry
  • Able to analyze the impact of decisions by taking a systematic, long-range, big-picture approach to problem solving, with a strong analytical focus on planning; possess a thorough understanding of the interdependence among organizational components and the importance of their coordinated functioning; anticipate future events, conduct risk analysis, and establish contingencies.
  • Able to weigh alternative courses of action; make decisions grounded in factual information and supported by rational, logical assumptions; render sound judgments; take decisive action; and demonstrate commitment.
