Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.

Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year‑round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50‑mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three‑hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.

Originate and check structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, material requisitions. Reviews and coordinates technical documents with/from other engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction. Prepare technical reports related to specific design issues. Participate in technical meetings and perform intra‑discipline coordination.

Part‑Time Telework:
This position is a full‑time role that offers part‑time telework flexibility in the Richland, Washington project office. Upon initial hire and onboarding, the position will require full time presence in the Richland, Washington project office, then may offer part‑time telework flexibility. This position works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off.

• Assists in the design, development,modification and evaluation of components and processes
• Compiles, adjusts, and correlates data that will develop professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard
  
  Civil/Structural engineering techniques, procedure sand criteria utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices(DRNs)
• Provides direct support to other engineering disciplines for process/chemical related matters
• Researches, designs, develops, and evaluates components, products, and systems by using applied process/chemical engineering principles
• Coordinates development and presentation of material when requested
• Prepares or participates in preparation of construction drawings, project schedules, graphic presentations, civil drawings, steel and concrete calculations, and material requisitions
• Checks manufacturers’ drawings and data for compliance with specification and design drawings
• Designs or participates in design for minor structures and portions of buildings
• Provides direct support to other engineering disciplines for Civil/Structural related matters
• Assists in constructability reviews
