Project Overview

Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.

Job Summary

In this role, you will work with the project team to assist in the preparation, establishment, and maintenance of schedule data associated with long-range planning efforts through the life‑cycle mission of the High‑Level Waste Facility Project. You will perform schedule development duties, monitoring, reporting, and analysis and assist with scenario modeling. Your work will enable Bechtel to optimize the scheduling details for critical activities to best achieve project deadlines and objectives.

Telework

Designation

Part‑Time Telework:
This position is a full‑time role that offers part‑time telework flexibility in the Richland, Washington project office. Upon initial hire and onboarding, the position will require full‑time presence in the Richland, Washington project office, then may offer part‑time telework flexibility. This position works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off.

Major Responsibilities
  • Prepares schedule data for long‑range planning and proposals inclusive of estimate details for professional staff, craft and capital dollars.
  • Establishes and maintains the schedule for a specific discipline area or specialty within Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Testing and Commissioning/Operations.
  • Performs schedule development duties to include establishing the work breakdown structure (WBS), determining the work activity duration, establishing the proper workflow logic ties, and developing the required job expenditure.
  • Performs schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and updating functions for specific applications, disciplines, or specialties inclusive of constraint management regarding funds availability, staffing ramp / density, and spend / commitment budget authorization.
  • Assists with maintenance of critical path schedule reports, release and installation curves, staffing profiles and other bi‑products of the schedule.
  • Performs schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine criticality of schedule activities.
  • Assists with schedule recovery plans and scenario modeling.
Education and Experience Requirements

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8–10 years of relevant experience or 12–14 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without Bechtel visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge).
  • Non‑U.S. citizens from countries identified by the Department of Energy as posing heightened security concerns—including sensitive countries, state sponsors of terrorism, countries of risk, and other designated countries—are subject to additional security requirements that limit site access.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication.
  • Knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction, and/or plant operations customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software applications (Primavera P6), cost processing applications (COBRA) and software applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power

  • Experience in Project Controls with an understanding of Project Controls general technical skills and tools.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and objectives.
