Overview

This is a key leadership role offering the chance to influence high‑impact nuclear design projects while shaping our technical culture.
Responsibilities- Lead structural analysis and design of steel structures, equipment supports, foundations, anchorage and other related systems.
- Ensure compliance with Department of Energy, Department of Defense, and nuclear facility design requirements in accordance with NQA-1 and ASCE, AISC, and ACI codes.
- Prepare, review, and approve engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and other design documentation.
- Review and interpret customer design criteria to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
- Provide technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and design personnel.
- Conduct field walkdowns, site investigations, and provide construction support during installation and commissioning.
- Perform design reviews and constructability assessments to improve project execution quality.
- Support preparation of proposals, estimates, and technical reports.
- Evaluate and apply broad engineering principles and judgement to solve complex design problems.
- Manage multiple projects of moderate to large scope or lead major project segments.
- Advance company design processes and quality procedures.
- Mentor junior engineers and support professional development across the team.
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of experience in engineering design
- At least 8 years of experience in support of nuclear facilities or designs
- Proficient knowledge of IBC, ASCE-7, ACI, and AISC codes and standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer proficiency with tools relevant to structural design and documentation
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineering License and the ability to obtain PE licenses in multiple states
- Familiarity with MathCAD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Solid Works
- Proficiency with RISA-3D, RISA Connection, and RISA Foundation
- Experience with federal projects for DOE, DoD, or Hanford facilities
- Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with clients and regulatory agencies

- Lead project teams through effective coordination and communication.
