Capital Project Manager Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Capital Project Manager to support and industrial client in the Tri Cities area, to oversee all phases of capital projects, from initial scope development to commissioning and final handoff. This role involves translating approved Project Objective Memorandums into detailed scopes, schedules, and cost forecasts, while ensuring alignment with site priorities and the annual capital plan.
Responsibilities- Manage all phases of capital projects from scope development to commissioning and handoff.
- Translate approved Project Objective Memorandums into detailed scopes, schedules, and cost forecasts.
- Prepare and issue RFPs/RFQs, coordinate vendor selection, and manage contractor relationships.
- Develop project schedules ensuring alignment with site priorities and annual capital plan.
- Oversee installation and commissioning phases, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with operations, maintenance, safety, leadership, and external partners.
- Ensure proper documentation, training, and acceptance during project closeout (FAT/SAT).
- Drive continuous improvement in project execution to build credibility and future capital investment opportunities.
- 3–5+ years of end-to-end project management experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Proven ability to develop scopes, manage risk, and coordinate contractors and engineering consultants.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently on-site and manage multiple priorities.
Skills & Qualifications
- Preferred:
Engineering background. - PMP certification.
- Experience in metals, titanium, or regulated industries very helpful.
- Project management, change order, RFI, project coordination, scope development, estimation, capital improvement.
- Cradle to grave CAPEX project experience.
This is a 1-year contract with good potential for extension, depending on allotted CAPEX spend for the site in 2027. The person ideally sits in Tri Cities area, but may offer flexibility to sit in Portland with travel to Richland consistently depending on project needs. The company is currently in the process of upgrading equipment while fulfilling customer demands. Paid holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Good Friday, and a floating holiday.

This is a Contract position based out of Richland, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $55.00/hr.
