$58.90/hr - $102.38/hr

Overview:

ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Senior Nuclear Project Manager will lead and oversee complex projects for refueling outages, forced outages, and online work, ensuring safe, high-quality execution on time and within budget. Responsibilities include managing budgets, schedules, risk, and resources; coordinating with clients, vendors, and internal teams; resolving conflicts; and mentoring project managers while driving strategic planning and operational excellence.

This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.

Pay rate: $58.90 - $102.38

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage project activities for refueling outages, forced outages, and assigned online work, ensuring safe, high‑quality execution on schedule and within budget.
  • Oversee all aspects of project implementation, including:
  • Budget development and cost tracking
  • Work package preparation and parts procurement
  • ALARA planning and industrial/nuclear safety compliance
  • Clearance order preparation, work prioritization, resource allocation, and risk management
  • Execution oversight, including resolving schedule delays and conflicts
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules aligned with complexity and scope to manage risk, track progress, enforce accountability, and control critical path and float.
  • Interface regularly with clients, engineers, vendors, and management to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Manage contracts and vendor relationships effectively.
  • Mentor and support less experienced project managers.
  • Prepare and deliver clear written and oral communications to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Contribute to long‑range planning strategies for assigned projects.
  • Support implementation of the Columbia Generating Station Self‑Assessment and Corrective Action Program.
  • Provide outage support, including participation in the Outage Control Center (OCC).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or related field from accredited college or university and 20 years of experience in a technical field;
  • OR an AA/AS degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or related field from accredited college or university and 22 years of experience in a technical field; OR a High School Diploma or GED and 24 years of experience in a technical field.
  • An advanced degree in a related field of study or business may be accepted in lieu of 2 years of experience.
  • RO/SRO License or CGS Management Certification is required.
  • Project Management certification is required.
  • Construction Management Certification or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience as a direct supervisor or project manager in the commercial nuclear industry, with a focus on maintenance, operations, engineering, or construction.
  • Experience in nuclear plant operations, production coordination, and work management for plant production activities.
  • Ability to successfully complete an Expert Panel Interview (oral board).
  • Strong knowledge of error reduction techniques, human performance improvement methods, and cost‑effective work execution strategies.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, including online work management and refueling or forced outage activities.
  • Advanced project management techniques applicable to commercial nuclear power plants or similar facilities.
