JOB OVERVIEW Provide Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) support and research for The Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford SiteRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES SCOPE OF WORK Provides detailed research evaluations to ensure that credible engineering input based upon sound scientific principles can be utilized by the WTP in support of its mission.

Provides technical oversight of manuscripts prepared by Enhanced Waste Glass program performers for submission to high impact professional journals.

Contributes to operational risk reduction.

Participates in the specification of a methodology for evaluating new glass forming chemical sources and evaluation of the needed sources.

Evaluates and contributes to matrixes of glass productions.

Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. The Senior Research Engineer shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner. The Senior Research Engineer employee shall submit a weekly report to the technical monitor addressing work accomplished, and deliverable progress.
