Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) leads the nation's largest and most complex radioactive waste cleanup effort. Every day, our teams work to safely remove, treat, and dispose of 56 million gallons of legacy tank waste at the Hanford Site in Richland, Washington.
When you join H2C, you become part of a team dedicated to creating "The Solution Today for a Better Tomorrow." Guided by our Vision, Mission, Values, and Behaviors, we work together with integrity, innovation, and accountability. We empower our workforce, encourage continuous improvement, and celebrate achievements as we make measurable progress toward tank waste cleanup and long term site closure. At H2C, your work has a meaningful impact—today and for future generations.

- Ensure assigned design work adheres to applicable standards, codes, safety requirements, and configuration control processes.
- Maintain discipline responsibility for drawing updates, CAD standards compliance, and orderly digital file management.
- Provide technical support within the mechanical discipline, including system design assistance, equipment evaluations, wiring or piping methods, and integration of engineered controls.
- Support Procurement Engineering and Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) activities by reviewing discipline-specific technical requirements for procurements.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining engineering procedures, standards, and work processes applicable to the assigned discipline.
- Coordinate with external design service providers by supporting requirement development, reviewing deliverables, and providing feedback to managers.
- Provide engineering support to operations, maintenance, construction projects, retrievals, and waste feed delivery activities as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with project engineering, nuclear safety, operations, maintenance, and other H2C engineering groups to support integrated design solutions.
- May assist Managers with planning, forecasting, or limited account management activities, as delegated.
- Encourage continuous improvement, good engineering practices, and effective problem-solving within the discipline team.
