Principal Tax Advisor / Certified Public Accountant (CPA)We are seeking a highly experienced and entrepreneurial Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our growing Richland office. This is a unique opportunity for a tax professional ready to step into a leadership-focused, client-facing role with a clear path to partnership.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, exceptional communicator, and seasoned tax advisor who thrives on building trusted client relationships. You are passionate about proactive tax planning and helping clients reduce their tax burden while building long-term wealth. In this role, you will work directly with business owners, high-net-worth individuals, and investors, delivering comprehensive tax planning, compliance, and advisory services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide proactive tax planning and strategic guidance for individuals, small businesses, and high-net-worth clients
- Prepare and review complex tax returns, including individual, partnership, corporate, and fiduciary filings
- Analyze financial statements to identify tax optimization opportunities, entity structuring strategies, and retirement planning solutions
- Stay current on federal and state tax law changes and communicate relevant updates to clients and team members
- Represent clients before the IRS and state agencies in audits or correspondence as needed
- Collaborate with financial advisors, investment professionals, and legal partners to deliver holistic financial strategies
- Mentor and support the development of junior tax professionals
- Participate in firm growth initiatives, business development efforts, and leadership discussions as a future partner
- Active CPA license (Arizona or reciprocal state)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax preparation and strategic planning, preferably in a public accounting or advisory firm
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field;
Master’s in Taxation (MST) or equivalent preferred - Strong knowledge of individual, corporate, partnership, and trust taxation
- Proven ability to advise clients on complex tax issues and long-term planning strategies
- Proficiency with tax and accounting software (e.g., Tax Act, Pro Connect, Quick Books, or similar)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence in client presentations
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and team-oriented with a desire to lead and grow with the firm
