Temporary Full Time & Casual, Monday-Friday 9am-3:30pm

Wage: $25.95 (to start)

Tri-Cities (Port Moody, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam)

At Community Ventures Society (CVS) we strive to provide person‑centred support to adults and children who have developmental disabilities by helping them connect with their community and take advantage of opportunities to have a meaningful life.

The Community Support Worker supports adults with developmental abilities in our Community Inclusion program. The successful candidate will be supporting people with various activities including, but not limited to:

• Supporting individuals to find and retain paid employment
• Teaching life skills aligned with personal and employment goals
• Supporting individuals to run their own social enterprises
• Supporting and encouraging independence and self‑determination
• Recreational and leisure activities such as swimming, hiking and many more
• Facilitating community inclusion and relationship building
• Teaching and facilitating effective communication

• Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities
• A class 5 driver’s license (willing to obtain a class 4 license) and your own reliable vehicle
• Current First Aid training (or willingness to obtain)
• A clean driving and criminal record
• Must be willing to learn about and implement Trauma‑Informed Support plans, Positive Behaviour Supports, and MANDT
• The ability to connect and communicate with the individuals we serve in a respectful way and be supportive of the needs of the individuals
• A positive attitude
