Service Assistant – Einan’s Funeral

The Service Assistant's role is to assist the Funeral Director(s) during the funeral, memorial, gathering and/or celebration of life.

Outstanding Customer Service: The Service Assistant is responsible for creating a positive first impression as guests arrive to an event that we are directing. He/she is responsible for opening doors, greeting and handing out memorial folders to guests as they enter the funeral home, event center, cemetery or other facility and ushering guests to their seats as necessary. He/she will be responsible for overseeing visitations and evening services with or without a Director present from time to time.

Behind the Scene Service Details: The Service Assistant is expected to take care of the behind the scene details so that the Lead Director can cater to the family's needs whatever they may be. Behind the scene details include but are not limited to transporting flowers, plant stands etc. to the place of gathering; receiving and staging floral arrangements; setting up the chapel, event center, graveside or other facility for the service and/or gathering;

assisting the Lead Director with placement of the casket or urn; running visual and audio equipment during event; delivering flowers to final destination after the event. He/she is responsible for all tear-down and clean up following all events.

Administrative Support: The Service Assistant is responsible for answering the phone, folding printed materials and must be able to help with other tasks such as running errands, completing projects as assigned and/or cleaning.

Evaluation/Accountability: The Service Assistant will report directly to the Funeral Home Assistant Manager who is responsible for ensuring that the Service Assistant is working in alignment with his/her job responsibilities and the mission, vision and values of Einan's  Service Assistant will be evaluated after 90 days. Regular feedback will be given on an informal basis throughout the year. Hours worked will be determined by how well he/she can demonstrate the duties and responsibilities set forth in this job description and related company best practices.

Qualifications: To ensure that the Service Assistant is in alignment with the mission, vision and values of the Einan's Funeral Homes:

• He/she must BELIEVE in providing exceptional customer service. He/she must understand the value in celebrating life, have a positive attitude, be on time and reliable and maintain professional appearances at all times.
• This person must possess effective communication skills and understand the importance of coordinating well with others inside and outside of the organization. Must have a valid driver's license with insurance and be able to physically lift up to 75 pounds.
