Description
Assume independent responsibility for the direct, primary care of patients throughout the pre‑ and post‑operative phases of orthopedic surgical procedures in an ambulatory surgery center setting. Utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive peri‑operative nursing care, coordinate total patient care with interdisciplinary team members, act as patient advocate in accordance with the Patients’ Bill of Rights, and serve as a liaison among physicians, staff, patients, and families to facilitate safe and effective care flow.

Support and, when needed, supervise nursing and support staff under the direction of the RN Manager ASC KC.

• Provide direct and coordinated nursing care in the peri‑operative period.
• Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Advocate for patient rights and facilitate patient and family education.
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and allied health professionals.
• Assist with or supervise nursing and support staff duties as directed.
• Implement safety and quality protocols consistent with Kadlec Regional Medical Center policies.

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Active Washington Registered Nurse license upon hire.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association upon hire.
• Minimum one year of nursing experience in a peri‑operative or surgical setting.
