Role Description

We are seeking a strong Bookkeeper who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment. In this role, you will manage the books for multiple companies, providing clear and accurate financial visibility as our portfolio continues to grow.

You will be responsible for full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll processing, and financial recordkeeping across the owner’s group of companies. Working closely with the CFO and administrative team, you will ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financials that support informed business decisions.

What You’ll Do

Join a thriving team in this Bookkeeper job in Richmond. Manage full-cycle bookkeeping and reporting across multiple companies onsite.

Full-cycle bookkeeping:
  • Maintain general ledgers for multiple companies
  • Record journal entries and ensure accurate coding
  • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
Bank & credit reconciliations
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and merchant accounts
  • Monitor cash flow and flag discrepancies or unusual items
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports and basic management summaries
  • Support budgeting and variance tracking
Compliance & filings
  • Prepare and organize documentation for GST/PST and other filings
Multi-entity coordination
  • Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations
  • Maintain consistent chart of accounts and documentation across all entities
Process improvement
  • Help refine bookkeeping workflows, documentation standards, and internal controls
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role, ideally in a multi-entity or small business environment.
  • Strong understanding of full-cycle bookkeeping, including AP, AR, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books Online, Quickbooks Desktop or similar).
  • Solid Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization—comfortable managing multiple companies’ books at once.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
