Overview
Our client, a rapidly expanding, publicly traded industry leader in manufacturing and distribution across North America, is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join their team in Richmond, BC. Operating out of the corporate head office, this role is an integral part of the corporate finance department, overseeing daily financial operations, driving the global consolidation process, and delivering key inputs for quarterly and annual external reporting.
What you will be doing:- Oversee the end-to-end global intercompany accounting process, including loan management, equity investments, cost allocations, and cross-entity balance reconciliations.
- Lead period-end close procedures, review complex journal entries, prepare general ledger reconciliations, and mentor junior accounting team members.
- Analyze financial and operational results across a diverse portfolio of business units to extract key insights and performance trends.
- Participate in special finance initiatives involving system optimizations, continuous process improvements, and enhanced internal controls.
- Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and MD&A packages alongside quarter-end supporting schedules.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support ad-hoc corporate finance projects as needed.
- Recognized university degree combined with 4+ years of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience (including GL reconciliations, complex entries, and financial reporting deliverables).
- Demonstrated expertise using ERP platforms, financial reporting tools, and productivity applications.
- Proven ability to analyze financial data, solve operational issues, and implement effective workflow or process improvements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex financial information for both finance and non-finance leadership.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an approachable, collaborative work style suitable for a fast-paced environment.
- High degree of autonomy, integrity, and a proactive mindset toward professional development.
Salary/Rate Range: $85,000 – $90,000
