Trail Appliances is seeking a Junior Accountant to maintain financial records and support reconciliations across its growing Western Canadian retail business.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this Junior Accountant contributes to month-end close and financial reporting activities. The position supports bank and balance sheet reconciliations, statutory remittances, and monthly result analysis. It also offers accounting professionals pursuing a CPA designation the opportunity to build relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain accurate financial records through journal entries
- Reconcile daily bank activity and balance sheet accounts
- Investigate discrepancies and support internal control compliance
- Maintain statutory remittance schedules and documentation
- Support annual reviews, audits, budgets, and forecasts
- Two or more years of junior accounting experience
- Progress toward a CPA designation
- Proficiency with Excel and financial data analysis
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Collaborative approach when managing multiple priorities
