Position SummaryWe are looking for a Junior Estimator to join our team. This is an entry-level position suited for a new graduate who is seeking an opportunity to build a career. At Wales McLelland Construction, we provide opportunities for career growth, training, and development.

Please note that this is an in-office role, and only candidates who can commute to our Richmond, BC office will be considered, as we promote a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities- Performs quantity take-offs on various scopes of work.
- Contact necessary trades and suppliers to obtain bids.
- Assist in preparing the construction schedule.
- Develop and maintain sub-contractor and suppliers’ databases.
- Assist in evaluating construction rates, subcontract estimates and proposals.
- Assist in preparing scopes of work.
- Working towards or having completed a post-secondary education with a diploma/degree in construction management, estimating, quantity surveying, engineering, or related field
- 0 – 2 years related work experience or combination of education and field experience
- Strong computer skills or experience using estimating software
- Knowledge in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, Timberline and on-screen take-offs
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to solve problems
- Ability to work
- Membership in ASTTBC - associate or certified technician level is considered an asset.
