NOC 22303

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project cost estimates, analyzing project plans and specifications, and collaborating with project teams to ensure successful project execution. This role requires strong skills in construction estimating, project management, and negotiation, with proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Bluebeam and Heavy Bid.

The Construction Estimator plays a vital role in securing profitable projects and maintaining competitive pricing strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Review project drawings, specifications and related documentation to determine material, labour and equipment requirements.
  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for civil construction projects.
  • Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations for completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare bid packages, cost summaries and tender submissions.
  • Participate in project budgeting and cost forecasting activities.
  • Assist in reviewing contract documents and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers and site personnel to confirm scope and pricing.
  • Monitor project progress and update cost projections as required.
  • Maintain cost databases and estimation records.
  • Support procurement and contract administration processes.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in construction estimating within commercial or heavy civil projects.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu, and other estimating or project management software.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and pricing methodologies.
  • Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Ability to interpret complex civil construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred but not mandatory.
