Estimating Student Constructors

Position: Estimating Student at PCL Constructors
Kickstart your career in construction as an Estimating Student with PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. in Richmond, British Columbia. This position offers hands-on experience supporting innovative infrastructure projects over 4–8 months, starting September 2026.

In this role, you'll work closely with an experienced Estimator, focusing on quantity surveys and estimating processes. Your responsibilities will involve using PCL's manual and systems, collaborating with the purchasing department, and attending job sites. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable field construction experience and develop industry relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand PCL's estimating manuals and systems

• Review quantity surveys with lead estimators

• Perform assigned quantity surveys and control bid documents

• Transfer quantities for pricing to the purchasing department

• Visit job sites and build relationships with subcontractors

Requirements:

• Strong desire to work in a construction environment

• Prior field construction experience is an asset

• Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications

• Familiarity with drafting tools
