What you’ll be doing
Lead all aspects of production across projects, ensuring a seamless execution from pre‑production to delivery.
Oversee the creation and maintenance of production schedules and budgets, ensuring alignment with client and company goals.
Champion innovation by integrating new production technologies, tools, and workflows.
Team Management
Manage and mentor a team of producers, production managers, and coordinators, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Ensure professional growth and skill development within the production team.
Collaborate with creative, account, and technical teams to align production efforts with broader company goals.
Work with Skycar’s management and HR consultant to help with onboarding, offboarding, and any other routine HR needs.
Oversee project resourcing, including editorial and animation.
Manage our freelance roster and help identify new talent.
Develop and manage production budgets, ensuring financial efficiency without compromising creative integrity.
Negotiate vendor contracts and rates, ensuring cost‑effective partnerships while maintaining quality.
Oversee invoicing and payroll process.
Monitor financial performance of production operations, providing regular reporting to executive leadership.
Run the finance meeting to keep the production staff and the Skycar bookkeeper updated on project financials.
New Business Development
Partner with the Executive Producer and business development teams to scope production needs and present solutions for new business opportunities.
Who you are
Minimum 10 years of production experience (Producer, PM)
Previous experience in overseeing teams
A creative, solutions‑oriented approach to projects and relationships
Experience as a post‑producer managing multiple editors, designers and animators at once
Experience with live action producing
Experience managing client and vendor relationships
Knowledge of creative & technical approaches to filmmaking
Ability to be flexible and highly adaptive in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment
Assertive and proactive self‑starter with strong interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate clearly, delegate projects, and manage multiple projects at once
Calm and kind under pressure
Passion for Excel (or more precisely, Google sheets)
Must be Bay Area based and have access to a car
Ability to work in our Point Richmond office at least three days a week
Nice to have
Working knowledge of Adobe Suite
Experience producing animation or VFX
Strong connections with artists, crew, and talent in the Bay Area
Bachelor’s degree in film production, marketing, communications or a related field
Dog‑friendly - dogs often hang around here!
