In this pivotal role, you'll serve as the main link between emergency responders and the public. We're looking for someone with sharp decision-making abilities and a passion for helping others. If you're calm under pressure, this position offers the flexibility to work per diem shifts while fulfilling vital community needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Receive and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls
• Operate communications equipment effectively
• Train new dispatch staff as a lead worker
• Gather critical details from callers in urgent situations
• Coordinate services for public safety units
Requirements:
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Eighteen months of public safety dispatch experience
• Type at least 30 words per minute
• California POST-certified Public Safety Dispatchers' Basic Course
• Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification
