Its extensive product range includes window and door systems, cornice and parapet mouldings, wall paneling, columns, arches, brackets, wall caps, banding, and other architectural details.
The Interior Designer is a part-time, on-site role based in Richmond, BC. This role is responsible for planning and designing interior spaces that complement DSG’s exterior architectural mouldings and wall systems. Day-to-day tasks include developing interior design concepts, preparing layouts and mood boards, coordinating finishes and materials, and ensuring designs align with architectural and construction requirements. The Interior Designer collaborates with management, clients, and external partners to integrate interior solutions with DSG products, provides design recommendations, and may support showroom displays or project presentations.
The role also involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of design trends, building codes, and product capabilities relevant to DSG’s offerings.
- Strong Interior Design skills, including concept development and detailing.
- Proficiency in Space Planning to create functional, aesthetically pleasing layouts.
- Understanding of Architecture and ability to coordinate with exterior architectural elements.
- Experience with Construction Drawings, including reading and preparing plans and elevations.
- Knowledge of FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) selection and specification.
- Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Proficiency in design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Revit, or similar).
- Strong visual communication skills, including rendering and presentation capabilities.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects part-time.
- Familiarity with building codes, construction processes, and material properties is an asset.
- Experience in exterior or interior architectural products and collaboration with builders or contractors is beneficial.
