Design Manager

Position: Design Manager at Bird Construction
Lead the design process at Bird Construction as a Design Manager in Richmond, BC. Drive project success through strategic design management, team leadership, and client interactions.

As Design Manager, you will oversee design from inception to completion while supporting a culture of safety. This role requires exceptional leadership skills and a background in Construction Management or as a Development Manager. You will collaborate with consultants, manage schedules, and ensure contractual obligations are met while enhancing the Design team’s capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead safety culture and design strategy for projects

• Select and manage consultant teams throughout design

• Develop and execute detailed design schedules

• Ensure compliance with contractual and budget obligations

• Report design performance to project teams and management

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years in Construction Management

• 3+ years as a Design Manager in ICI sector

• Strong proficiency in BIM software tools

• Relevant degree in Engineering or Architecture

• Experience in healthcare facilities is a plus
