Richmond Christian School is seeking a committed and transformational Secondary Campus Vice Principal to join our educational leadership team.

PositionDescription Secondary Campus Vice Principal
The Secondary Campus Vice Principal will be a key member of the educational leadership team and need to be a strong collaborator and have strong interpersonal and presenting skills, along with a deep understanding of Secondary education.
A 1.0 FTE / 350 students will be provided at the Secondary campus. The Principal will allocate responsibilities, as approved by the Superintendent, when the allotted FTE is assigned to more than one person.
1- Key Responsibilities Primary Function
The Secondary Campus Vice Principal will work with the Principal to provide instructional leadership through:
- Developing a positive, Secondary school culture.
- Coordination of a Secondary campus program.
- Providing professional development resources and opportunities for teachers.
- Assistance in administrative processes.
The Secondary Campus Vice Principal will work with the Director of Learning and Formation (DoLF) and Principal to provide instructional leadership, to provide support and feedback to colleagues and may teach classes that model “quality Christ-centered education.”
2- Administrative Responsibility
1. Secondary Campus Program (In collaboration with the Principal or DoLF)
- Develop a positive, Christ-centered school culture.
- Coordinate details of the Secondary Campus program, including activities such as rotations, clubs, cross-graded groupings, chapels, report cards, etc.
- Ensure provincial expectations outlined by the Ministry in the BCEducation
Plan for the Secondary Campus are being met (ie. Core Competency development, assessment, reporting, etc.)
- Supervise student conduct within the school and oversee disciplinary procedures, keeping records of any disciplinary action.
- Work with students who are disciplinary problems and take appropriate action, including:
- recommendations regarding suspension and expulsion
- keep parents and staff informed regarding disciplinary and/or behaviour problems.
- maintain appropriate records of student behaviour and disciplinary action.
- assist staff members in resolving student behaviour problems.
- inform students, parents and staff or their rights and responsibilities.
- attend, as required, hearings regarding student discipline.
- conference with parents, students and teachers regarding student discipline.
- Administer laws, regulations and policies pertaining to student attendance.
- inform students, teacher, parents of regulations regarding attendance.
- report students' attendance to parents.
- counsel students regarding attendance.
- monitor and maintain records of individual student attendance.
- conference with parents, students and teacher regarding student attendance.
- Oversee the Curriculum Budgets assigned to the Department Heads, that includes purchasing and reviewing needs for resources and instructional aides and alignment with school educational priorities.
