Little Readers Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Are you all about alliteration? Love to learn about letters? Eager to help students succeed in learning to read? Gain valuable teaching experience.

Your role as a Teacher‑Tutor will assist students through the Little Readers program. Oxford Learning Kerrisdale is seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors for our learning centre. No lesson planning required; lessons are pre‑planned. Full training in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Little Readers Teacher‑Tutors will be available to work at Oxford Learning Kerrisdale 2‑4 weekdays from 3:30 pm‑6:30 pm and/or Saturday mornings 9:00 am‑12:00 pm.

The role is in‑person; commuters only. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening mandatory.

We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field, or university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at 1‑5 grade level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

• Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
• Teaching in‑person
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner

In this position, you will play a key role in helping students develop their self‑confidence and self‑esteem. Part‑time

$22 / hour

• 2‑4 weekdays (3:30 pm – 6:30 pm)
• Some Saturday mornings (9 am – 12 pm)
