Faculty Overview  Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) is Canada’s only polytechnic university and the fourth largest university in British Columbia. The Faculty of Science serves communities in the South Fraser region and beyond, offering multiple undergraduate programs across nine departments and more than 30 programs. The faculty collaborates with KPU’s ISH, ISFS, and AGC and maintains experiential learning opportunities through field labs and a working farm.

Position Overview  KPU’s Department of Sustainable Agriculture seeks NR2 faculty to teach in Soil Science, Business and Economics, Agroecology, and Animal Agriculture as part of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Sustainable Agriculture. The successful candidate will cover relevant topics within sustainable agriculture and food systems, with expertise in sustainable production systems and agroecology. Content support will be provided, and faculty will work with department colleagues in course development and delivery.
The program emphasizes practical and academic training addressing climate change and social justice within our food system, using classroom, lab, and field-based learning. Graduates will gain expertise in food production, policy, and business to lead sustainable agri-food initiatives.

Qualifications  The successful applicant will lecture and converse fluently in English and must have at minimum a Master’s degree (PhD in related field preferred). Demonstrated teaching experience is required.

Salary Information  Placement on the salary scale will depend on level of education and relevant teaching experience. Advancement on the pay scale is based on FTE and employment status.
