Faculty overview

Kwantlen Polytechnic University's Faculty of Science serves the South Fraser region with over 1,500 full-time students and over 200 faculty members and instructors from across the natural and applied sciences. The Faculty of Science includes nine departments and over 30 undergraduate programs across four campuses. The faculty is also home to Canada Research Chair:
Dr. Paul Adams. The Faculty offers experiential learning through hands-on curriculum and co-ops, and research collaboration opportunities with KPU's Institute for Sustainable Horticulture (ISH), Institute of Sustainable Food Systems (ISFS), and Applied Genomics Center (AGC). The faculty operates a horticulture field lab, a working farm, and a state-of-the-art brewery recognized locally and internationally. More information:

Position overview

The Department of Sustainable Agriculture is seeking an NR2 faculty to teach in the areas of Soil science, Business and Economics, Agroecology, and Animal Agriculture. Courses are part of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Sustainable Agriculture. The successful candidates will cover relevant topics in sustainable agriculture and food systems, with expertise in sustainable production systems and agroecology. The candidate will work with department faculty on development and delivery of these courses;

content support will be provided.

The Sustainable Agriculture degree program provides a learning experience addressing climate change, social justice, and food production. Students experience classroom, lab, and field-based learning, preparing graduates with expertise in food production, policy, and business to lead sustainable agri-food systems.

Qualifications

The successful applicant will lecture and converse fluently in English and possess at least a Master’s degree (PhD in a related field is preferred). Demonstrated teaching experience is required.
