Supply Registered Early Childhood Educator
Location:
Richmond Hill, ON - In‑person, on‑site, daytime role.
Job Type: Part‑Time/New‑Grad or Full‑Time (as needed). Hourly pay: CA $25.00.
Child Development Institute (CDI) is dedicated to delivering innovative, evidence‑based mental health and early learning programs. The CDI Early Learning Centre seeks a knowledgeable, competent supply Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to support our children’s program and provide flexible, on‑call coverage.
Responsibilities- Supervise children in a safe and healthy environment.
- Maintain daily attendance records, conduct headcounts, and oversee transitions.
- Provide team leadership in a professional and positive manner.
- Observe, document, and analyze children’s interactions to support developmental needs.
- Develop and implement planned daily programs that engage, stimulate, and challenge children, aligning with the Four Foundations of Learning and Development (Well‑Being, Expression, Belonging, Engagement) and AQI requirements.
- Collaborate with Resource Consultants to plan for children with special needs.
- Create a developmentally appropriate learning environment encouraging exploration and independent play.
- Manage daily program routines, schedules, and client communication.
- Extend a warm welcome to families at all times.
- Administer medication as directed.
- Administer parent interviews, manage opening/closing duties, and act as “In‑Charge” when the Director is off site.
- Provide placement supervision to post‑secondary ECE students.
- Maintain records, program plans, daily care information, and other documentation required by TCS, CCEYA, and TPH.
- Participate in regular supervision and professional development through training sessions, literature, and the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
- Co‑operate with housekeeping duties and report any signs of child abuse to Children’s Aid Society.
- Early Childhood Education degree or diploma.
- Registered member (good standing) of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
- Knowledge of CCEYA, AQI, HDLH, ELECT.
- Valid Standard First Aid Certificate.
- Strong customer service skills and experience in building positive relationships with parents, families, peers, and guests.
- Ability to work with children of all age groups and maintain flexibility for operational needs.
- Positive, dedicated, and flexible team player.
- Demonstrated respect for diversity, multiple backgrounds, and socio‑economic status.
- Willingness to travel to various agency or affiliate offices as needed.
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Credential verification and reference checks (required).
