Support equity and diversity initiatives as a Library Assistant at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Surrey, BC. This part time role focuses on Indigenous and IDEA efforts within the Library.
KPU seeks a Library Assistant, Indigenous & IDEA to collaborate with our Library team. You will assist in promoting equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenization, alongside reconciliation efforts. The role requires a commitment to serving diverse communities and backgrounds while applying strong communication and organizational skills in daily library operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with library programs supporting equity and inclusion
• Provide material access in line with IDEA principles
• Engage with diverse community members effectively
• Maintain organization of digital and physical resources
• Contribute to Indigenization and decolonization efforts
Requirements:
• Two-year Library Technician diploma or equivalent
• Background in equity, diversity, and Indigenous communities
• Familiarity with Brian Deer classification preferred
• Experience in digital accessibility and IDEA issues
• Ability to lift 30-50 pounds
