Intermediate Systems Security Engineer – Cyber Security

We’re on the hunt for an intermediate Systems Engineer in our Geointelligence Engineering Team at our Richmond office. The role focuses on turning data into insight and supporting programs such as Chorus Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Satellite, Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC), Square Kilometre Array (SKA) radio telescope, aeronautical navigation products, and Marine Insights products.

As a member of the Engineering team you will work with other engineers in a multi‑disciplinary environment to create and deliver engineering solutions to our customers in a cost‑effective way.

• Develop security‑related artefacts supporting secure systems development.
• Investigate and analyse security tools for use in the development, assessment, and test of secure systems.
• Integrate tools and technologies into the MDA Dev Ops environments.
• Trace customer requirements to conceptual designs and prepare associated documentation (e.g., specifications, test plans, reports).
• Support threat‑risk assessments.
• Coordinate network vulnerability and compliance scanning with development and operational staff.
• Apply knowledge of IT infrastructure to evaluate security risks and controls.
• Evaluate, analyse, develop, test, and recommend specific solutions in response to security guidelines or industry best practices.
• Work hands‑on in a lab and integration environment.
• Support work planning and cost estimates during the project lifecycle.
• Maintain an in‑depth understanding of the security environment and associated infrastructure.

• Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
• Familiarity with one or more of the following areas: network security principles and practice, vulnerability analysis, threat risk assessment, threat modelling, OS hardening.
• Experience with Microsoft Enterprise network suite, Alienvault, Nessus, VMware vSphere, ESXi & vCenter, SAST and DAST tools, Dev Ops tools and processes, and information security best practices.

Security clearance requirement: Candidates must obtain and hold a SECRET clearance level and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).

The compensation range for this position is $70,000 – $93,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
