Position SummaryWe are experiencing continuous growth and have an immediate opening for the Engineer, Product Development position in our Richmond, BC office. The Engineer, Product Development will report to the Senior Manager, Product Development and will be responsible for research, design, development and ultimately bringing industry‑leading products to market.
This is a hybrid position—work onsite Monday to Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Fridays.
Key Responsibilities- Design new products and continually improve and innovate existing products.
- Apply engineering principles to optimize product design within cost, quality, and safety parameters.
- Develop test protocols, implement test programs, and analyze testing results.
- Collaborate with colleagues and customers on business opportunities and take concepts to market.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including marketing, inventory, and manufacturing to align product design with business goals.
- Produce and implement product manuals including all technical documents, engineering drawings, QC programs, standards, etc.
- Set up production of our products and raw materials in various countries, including quality control.
- Confirm compliance with all regulatory requirements for our products (building codes, environmental, etc.).
- Product and process improvement: simplify design of process, trial more cost‑effective materials.
- Create and implement improvements to project plans, procedures and specifications.
- Preparation and review of drawings, specifications, and parts lists for commercial projects.
- Perform other duties within the scope of the role as may be assigned from time to time by management.
- Post‑secondary degree in Engineering.
- Proficient in Solid Works and/or CAD engineering software.
- Strong computer skills with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written).
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive attitude.
- Eligibility to register or registered as a Professional Engineer in Canada.
- Ability to communicate verbally in Mandarin or Spanish is an asset.
$70,000 to $100,000.
