As a Transportation Planner 1, you're expected to support and lead various transportation engineering projects, focusing on traffic modelling, signal optimization, and pedestrian safety studies. This role provides an excellent foundation for recent graduates or those with a few years of experience in the field. Knowledge of relevant planning policies in the Greater Toronto Area will be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze traffic data and conduct modelling exercises
• Perform field surveys to gather traffic-related data
• Facilitate traffic impact and development assessments
• Optimize and coordinate traffic signals
• Conduct safety and collision analytics for roadway improvements
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Preferred 2-3 years of experience in transportation engineering
• Exposure to traffic simulation software (Vissim/Aimsun)
• Experience with GIS and AutoCAD is an asset
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
