Our Marine organization is a trusted provider of innovative solutions for the worldwide boating and boat building industry, and we recently expanded our scope to lead the boating industry into an electrified future. Dometic has won numerous NMMA Innovation Awards over the years, and we are always striving for new ways to make boating easier, safer, and more enjoyable.

We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Co-op Product Designer - Electrical . This position reports to Electrical Engineering Manager and will work in Vancouver, B.C.

Please note that this position is open to current students enrolled in a Canadian accredited university and co-op program.

Dometic Marine’s headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. The facility develops and manufactures hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products.

As Co-op Product Designer - Electrical on the Vancouver team, you will be involved in a wide variety of tasks supporting administrative, engineering, and technical staff throughout the facility.

General Responsibilities
  • Perform electronic,sensorandmotorevaluation,prototype assembly,test and analysis
  • Researchanddesignconceptsolutions
  • Analyzefunctionalperformanceforcomponentsandproductsandhelpidentify improvements
  • Schematic and PCB development
  • Circuit design including schematic creation and component selection
  • Trouble-shooting of product and development designs

Skills & Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in an Engineering program at an accredited university, preferably in the electrical/electronic, mechatronic, engineering-physics or similar disciplines
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to manage a variety of tasks
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs including:
    Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; and, the willingness to learn other applications quickly
  • An interest in mechatronic devices
  • Previous experience reading electrical schematics is an asset
