As a Mechanical Engineer at General Fusion, you will support the Diagnostics Engineering team in creating advanced instrumentation for experimental testbeds. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience designing precision assemblies while working closely with multidisciplinary teams. Your ability to innovate and solve complex design challenges will be crucial to our mission of achieving zero-carbon fusion energy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design diagnostic equipment for extreme environments and interfaces
• Collaborate with stakeholders on technical solutions
• Build, test, and commission prototype systems in the lab
• Perform FEA and thermal simulations for equipment
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and participate in design reviews
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or mechatronics engineering
• 2-5 years of post-graduate engineering experience
• Proficiency in Solid Works and 3D CAD design
• Experience with machine shop tools and techniques
• Strong communication skills with diverse teams
