About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Structural Design Specialist to join our growing aerospace team within a Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) Design Approval Organization (DAO).
In this role, you will be responsible for developing detailed structural designs and engineering drawings for rotary-wing aircraft. You will play a key role in supporting certification and modification programs by translating engineering requirements into manufacturable, compliant solutions in a highly regulated environment.

- Design & Drafting: Develop 3D models and 2D drawings, define dimensions/tolerances (GD&T), and implement design changes for modifications, repairs, and STC programs.
- Engineering Integration: Collaborate with engineers and stress analysts, interpret technical data, and support trade studies and conceptual/layout design.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs meet CARs and rotorcraft standards, follow DAO procedures, and prepare certification documentation.
- Manufacturing Support: Coordinate with production teams, ensure design manufacturability, and resolve shop floor issues and non-conformances.
- Repair & Installation Development: Create repair schemes and provide clear installation and assembly instructions.
- Configuration & Documentation Control: Maintain revision control, document engineering changes, and support lifecycle records for continued airworthiness.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering Design.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in aerospace or helicopter structural design/drafting preferred.
- Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with TCCA regulations (CARs) and certification environments is an asset.
