Pinchin is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join our Emissions Reduction and Compliance team in the Lower Mainland, BC. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this newly created role supports a growing team and is currently based in Richmond, with an office relocation to Burnaby planned for later in 2026.
Role OverviewReporting to the Operations Manager and the Practice Specialist, the Environmental Engineer executes environmental, wastewater, stormwater and drinking water design, permitting, construction and assessment projects. Duties may include collaboration for treatment system design and permitting, sample coordination, sample collection, data processing, analysis, and writing reports. The Environmental Engineer will work with Project Managers and Senior Technical Engineers, as well as collaboratively with other departments in Pinchin to help clients meet their on-going environmental regulatory compliance requirements.
YourRole and Action
- Support the Environmental, Water and Wastewater Services Team with various projects in BC, including planning and coordinating field assessments, coordinating sampling and data collection events, developing and executing assessment plans, coordinating with external labs and other specialists, and report writing.
- Play a role in the design and execution of environmental restoration, assessment, drinking water and wastewater treatment system design, improvement and permitting from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, and exceeding client expectations.
- Conduct thorough on-site inspections to assess site conditions, system performance and regulatory compliance and assist in the formulation of appropriate solutions and strategies.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations and best practices in infrastructure and green infrastructure design.
- Prepare proposal documents and assist with the management of project budgets and invoicing under the direction of the Project Manager.
- Represent Pinchin through professional conduct, and adhere to proper quality control, and health and safety protocols both in the office and at client facilities.
We’re looking for someone who is motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about making a difference. You enjoy learning, collaborating with others, and contributing to projects that support environmental stewardship and resilient water and environmental infrastructure.
- Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Water Resources or a related discipline.
- 3-6 years of experience in environmental consulting, industrial operations, municipal infrastructure, or a related field.
- Registered as, or working toward, a professional designation such as EIT or P.Eng.
- Familiarity with Canadian and BC regulations related to environmental, water, wastewater, stormwater and environmental compliance considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of environmental, water and wastewater treatment systems, stormwater management, and environmental infrastructure considered an asset.
- Experience supporting technical assessments, field investigations, inspections, data collection, and report preparation.
