Position:
Collections/Credit Analyst
Container World is a state-of-the-art forwarding, warehousing and distribution Company located in Richmond, British Columbia providing premier services for the beverage industry; with approximately employees throughout its BC facilities. Hours:
Monday-Friday 8.00 am-4.30 pm
Position overview:
The Collections/Credit Analyst position works independently with some guidance from others as required, supporting the overall accounts receivable of the company.
This position is responsible for improving overall credit and collections, including maintaining credit policy and procedures. Responsibilities have significant short-term impact on organization wide initiatives and financial performance, with moderate impact on the efficiency of long-term operations.
Job Description:
Lead customer credit controls and assignments
Creating and maintaining credit history filesAnalyzing and assessing the creditworthiness of accounts and clients using external credit risk management tools and reportsLead accounts receivable collection activities
Managing the collection efforts and calls for accounts receivable portfolioDocumenting daily collections activityEnsure customer statements are up to date and distributed to customers as requiredMaintain customer database within Accounts Receivable ensuring up to date customer informationResolve collection disputes
Researching account disputes and billing discrepanciesPerforming account and payment reconciliationsLiaise external and escalation collection activities
Responding to credit inquiries from external and internal clientsIdentifying delinquent accounts requiring external collection effortsIdentifying bad debt or financial exposureAssist Finance team
Perform bank reconciliations if requiredOther duties assigned as the position developsRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree plus 2 to 3 years’ experience or specialist certificate/diploma plus 4 to 6 years’ experience, or at least 6 to 9 years related experience.Other
