Municipal Environmental Coordinator

Lead environmental compliance efforts as the Environmental Coordinator 2 focused on Richmond's sustainability initiatives. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders in enhancing municipal projects.

This role as the Environmental Coordinator 2 requires deep engagement with environmental legislation and project delivery. You will collaborate with city departments to ensure that compliance is met while managing environmental planning and permitting activities. Strong communication skills are essential for translating complex environmental issues to various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop data collection techniques to support environmental initiatives

• Engage in environmental assessments and working groups

• Monitor compliance with performance standards

• Prepare reports and correspondence for management

• Evaluate effectiveness of environmental services and initiatives

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science or similar field

• 5-8 years of experience in the environmental sector

• Professional designation is beneficial

• Class 5 Driver’s License for British Columbia

• Previous local government experience preferred
