The City of Richmond Hill is seeking a Fire Inspector to reinforce fire and life safety for the community. This role demands enforcing the Fire Protection and Prevention Act while inspecting buildings and educating owners on compliance. You'll investigate complaints, review safety plans, and prepare vital documentation to support firefighting efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Enforce fire safety legislation and regulations
• Inspect buildings and evaluate fire protection systems
• Investigate complaints regarding fire hazards
• Review and approve fire safety plans and specifications
• Conduct fire investigations and produce technical reports
Requirements:
• 3-year diploma in Fire Protection Technology or equivalent
• 2 years of related building/fire inspection experience
• NFPA 1031 Fire Inspector Level I certification
• Knowledge of Building Code Act and fire safety protocols
• Valid Class “G” driver's license
