Fire Inspector Hill

Ensure community fire safety as a Fire Inspector with the City of Richmond Hill. This permanent, full-time role focuses on inspections, code compliance, and public education on fire safety.

Reporting to the Fire Prevention Officer, you will be crucial in upholding fire safety regulations. This role requires a strong background in inspections and regulations under the Fire Protection and Prevention Act. You will educate residents and ensure compliance within the community through various responsibilities and duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform inspections of buildings and fire protection systems

• Enforce the Fire Protection and Prevention Act regulations

• Investigate fire safety complaints and violations

• Review and approve fire safety plans and specifications

• Prepare technical reports and statistics on inspections

Requirements:

• 3-year post-secondary degree in relevant field

• 2 years of fire inspection experience required

• NFPA 1031 Level I Fire Inspector certification

• Valid Class G driver’s license in good standing

• Strong communication and investigative skills required
